Indicative estimate based on the official Dienst Toeslagen amounts and income limits for 2026 (does not include the wealth limit, which also applies). The benefit is calculated per year and paid for the months you had Dutch health insurance; the final amount is always confirmed by the Belastingdienst.

We confirm the amount as soon as we handle your return. From there, the payment usually takes about 3 months for the income tax return and about 6 weeks for Zorgtoeslag. We let you know as soon as the tax office pays into your account.
Why Firlitum
Some charge €10 or €20 less, but they aren't registered, don't pay taxes, ask for your DigiD, and disappear if something goes wrong. We'd rather do it properly — that's why we work with a guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
We confirm the amount as soon as we handle your return. From there, the payment into your account usually takes around 3 months. We keep you updated at every step of the process.
The payment is made directly by the Belastingdienst, never by us. If it's the first time you'll be receiving money from them, your account number needs to be registered in their system, and that account must be in your own name: they cannot pay into someone else's account.
No. To handle your paperwork with us you don't need to have DigiD or share it with us: we handle everything with our own authorized access. Be careful: DigiD is personal and non-transferable, and anyone who asks for your DigiD username and password to "file your return" cannot be trusted. We never ask you for it.
It's the benefit for mandatory health insurance in the Netherlands. In 2026 it's available to those earning less than €40,857/year (€51,142 for couples) with assets below €146,011 (€184,633 for couples). The maximum amount is €129/month (€246/month for couples), calculated per year and paid only for the months you had Dutch health insurance. Once we apply, it usually takes about 6 weeks to be confirmed. It can also be requested retroactively up to 1 September of the following year, and foreigners with Dutch health insurance are also entitled to it. Use our Zorgtoeslag calculator for an instant estimate.
You can correct a return up to 5 years after filing it. If you think you missed a refund from previous years, we can review it.
You can file it at any time of the year — there's no fixed deadline for claiming your refund. Still, the sooner you file, the sooner you get your money.
Cryptocurrency is declared under "Box 3" (assets). In 2026 the tax-free allowance is €59,357 per person (€118,714 for tax partners). We help you declare it correctly.
Among others: feasibility advisory, chamber of commerce registration, office rent, work equipment, insurance and public transport. For mixed-use expenses, only the business-use portion can be deducted.
We review your situation before starting. As a rule of thumb: if you only worked for 1 month, filing usually isn't worth it; but if you worked more than 2 months, there's almost always a refund, because tax is withheld from your salary every month. The final amount is always confirmed by the Belastingdienst.
The Berichtenbox is your official digital mailbox: it's where you receive notifications from the Belastingdienst, UWV, RDW and your municipality. You access it through MijnOverheid, the portal where you can also see your data held by the government (address, registered vehicles, etc.), and you always log in with your DigiD. We'll flag anything important we spot there, but remember: your DigiD login is yours alone.
This is common: if you weren't registered as living in the Netherlands and your center of life (home, family) stayed in your home country, you were likely a tax resident there, not in the Netherlands, even if you worked here. In that case you can correct your Dutch return as a "niet-ingezetene" (non-resident) to recover the excess withheld, and declare that income in your home country applying the double-taxation deduction (using the Belastingdienst certificate as proof). If you think this is your case, we'll review your return at no obligation.
